I realized I hadn’t done a product review in awhile and I have lots of new goodies sitting on my desk, so let’s get cracking!
The first one up is my newest product from Thrive Causemetics: the Brilliant Under Eye Brightener Duo Set ($64).
These can be bought separately, but they were created to work well together. Full disclosure: I got both products in PR with no obligation to post or write about it!
The Products and Their Claims
Let’s chat about the claims first:
Brilliant Under Eye Brightener Illuminating Corrector
Neutralizes tones, corrects discoloration, and brightens dark circles.
Infused with Matrixylâ„¢ 3000, an advanced peptide blend that promotes visible wrinkle smoothing and the improvement of skin firmness, tone, and elasticity.
Sodium Hyaluronate (the sodium salt extracted from Hyaluronic Acid), Niacinamide, and Matrixylâ„¢ 3000 work together to visibly brighten dullness, hydrate skin and smooth fine lines.
Comes in 3 shades
$32
The first thing I noticed is how much I love the applicator — it’s not metal, which is common with brighteners like these, but it still gives a mess-free application and is super easy to clean. Also, when you twist the bottom, only a little comes out at a time, so I don’t feel like I’m wasting any product.
Brilliant Under Eye Brightener Loose Setting Powder
Blur Effect Technologyâ„¢ provides a smooth, airbrushed finish by visibly blurring fine lines and wrinkles.
Vegan Squalane, Vitamin E + K and Niacinamide help noticeably brighten dullness and even skin tone.
Talc-free formula that locks makeup in place with a matte finish without settling into pores and fine lines, or fading throughout the day.
Ophthalmologist tested and approved.
Comes in 3 shades
$32
The power is super super fine — to the point where I didn’t think my brush was actually picking up any product! But it’s just so finely milled, which I love because it’s less likely to get cakey or gross.
The Application
For context, I have the Illuminating Corrector in the shade Light and the Setting Powder in Pink/Rose.
I did a First Impression reel over on my Instagram, if you want to see the product in action! But here are some photos for reference as well:

Here’s a side by side photo that shows the products applied on the right eye (your right) versus no product on the left:
Same thing, right eye done only:

My Thoughts
Pros:
Love that these products have skincare benefits, which is an added bonus for my under eye area.
Super thin liquid formula, considering a lot of the popular under eye brighteners can be kind of thick and gummy.
Very fine and lightweight powder, which made for comfortable wear.
Long-lasting and non-creasing.
Cons:
Pricey
Can probably get more coverage or correcting from higher intense pigment.
Not a great shade range — especially since NARS has six shades, elf has six shades, and Caliray has ten shades.
Overall, I really enjoy these products! I would recommend putting a concealer or tinted moisturizer on after the Illuminating Corrector (to help mitigate any stark demarkation between your cheek color and the brightener). Then, use the Powder last to seal everything in.
It may not be the most intense eye brightener, but I like that it’s buildable, easy to blend, and doesn’t look completely wild on me (especially since my under eyes cannot handle a lot of product).
Let me know if you’ve tried this product yet from Thrive? Or if you have other Thrive favorites? I’m a Lash Extensions fangirl and I love any company that does so much good with their platform.
Until next time! 💄
